During class today I knew there was a bad accident on a local freeway. So with the constant sound of the news helicopter I went outside to get as good a photo as I could conidering the lense of the camera had a limited telephoto length. The cool thing was the aperture was maxed out and therefore I was able to freeze the rotors to some extent.

This iamge was taken with one of the cameras we used to showcase the power and funcationality of wireless SD Cards such as the Eye-Fi card. Our session went very well and of course anytime I can do anything regarding photography is always going to be good!!

Getting picked up at the airport is always a welcomed thing. However, using a piece of paper with your name is so 20th century. In this case my friend used his Google Chrome Notebook to not only save a tree, but really stand out amongst the other drivers.

More importantly it is a photo of food that students learned to create and serve in one of the culinary arts academy classes at school. The teacher called on a close friend to visit the class and teach the students how to prepare sashimi and sushi. The lesson included elements of healthy eating. 100% of the students agreed that schools should be serving more healthy food like this!!!

In keeping with the whole Superman theme I wanted to showcase this teacher here. He happens to be a friend of mine, but I want to point out the bag in the foreground. He is bringing home with him, essays his students wrote. In an effort to ensure they understand and learn how to communicate via written language this teacher is going to grade that work this weekend. So in this case "Superman" will be in his Fortresss of Solitude grading the work of his students.

Today's daily photo is due to the forced screening of "Waiting for Superman" at my school. Seems some of the parents are on a political agenda mission to showcase the film that includes a Q&A afterwards with one of the producers. Of course the producer is friends with one of the parents behind this. Rather than having a full blown discussion about the film ahead of time and calling into question many of its' false claims, there was none. Instead the film is being shown on campus with administrative consent (go figure that one) and the teachers are left to defend the very core of what they do everyday. I hate the title since Superman is a fictional character from DC Comics and the real reasons many of our public schools are in the condition they are is due in NO part to the teachers. There are "supermen and superwomen" on every campus across this country. It just seems that nobody wants to recognize the triumphs and accomplishments, they would rather emphasize and exaggerate the trials and tribulations. And I ask the following: How is it possible to wait for Superman at your local school when more often than not Lex Luthor is working
