Today's photo accomplishes two tasks simultaneously. One is the @dailyshoot theme of taking a photo in which curves and flowing lines are the emphasis. Also this photo is from a small cafe in Santa Monica that I have wanted to try out called Espresso Cielo (http://www.espressocielo.com/). Admitting that I am big time coffee snob I would have to say that this place is good, but overpriced. I have had coffee from 49th parallel, a micro-roaster in Vancouver, and it is good, but not worth the amount they charge here.

Getting back to the food pics. Today's dinner consisted of olive pasta with a sausage ragu. On top is a light dusting of 60 month aged parmigiano reggiano and on the side is a piece of bruschetta. My favorite food to cook and eat as well.

Today's photo is courtesy of the @dailyshoot.com theme. Take a photograph of food. Normally this is an easy task since I love to photograph the food I make and use my 35mm lense to get it. I did set the focus on the wrong part of the plate though. So in this case the food tasted much better than the photo looked. I made St. Louis style ribs with seared swiss chard and black forest bacon. In addition there are roasted green beans with garlic. Yummy!! Oh well next time I will be sure to get a better photo.

After the closing keynote at CUE 2010 I walked outside the Palm Springs convention center and had to get a photo of the mountains with the rain clouds peaking over. Too bad I didn't have my SLR with the wide angle lense and polarizing filter on it for this.
