Day trip to Franklin Canyon today. Believe it or not this photo is taken in the greater Los Angeles area (yes you read that correct). It's in the mountains separating Beverly Hills and the San Fernando Valley. Who would have thought that such a place existed in Los Angeles.

In preparation for this contest www.chocolateadventurecontest.com/About.aspx I worked on several recipes. In the end I chose to submit these savory smoked ribs with a Mole BBQ sauce. I also submitted the black-eyed peas as a North African style hoppin john, and for dessert a chocolate hot pot. All dishes use at least 3 of the adventure ingredients and all three are very flavorful.

UCLA Basketball v. University of Arizona. The Bruins are in a rebuilding year and this game was no different than the others this season. Team is not ready for primetime after so many years of being a top 5 team.

First photo for this years 365 challenge. Since last night was a "Blue Moon" night what better photo to begin the year with that this one. If only I had a lense that could have captured even more of the moon's detail.

Although I was not able to maintain the photo a day for the entire year and chose to not post the photos within the past two months I enjoyed being inspired and challenged by many of my friends who undertook the same challenge. This year will be better and different and with what appears to be more of my friends attempting to take a photo a day inspiration will come from many sources. I am posting a slideshow of the photos from last year and look forward to expanding my photography skill set and creativity this year. Thanks to all of you that supported and participated with me.

Google Workshop for Educators in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. First time to this state and the workshop was very enjoyable. Loved working with a group of highly enthusiastic educators.
